Caramuru dethrones leader and secures dramatic classification in Série Bronze

Caramuru Futsal secured in Castro the qualification for the playoffs of the Paranaense Futsal Championship Série Bronze after an exciting turn over the leader ADAB/PM Bituruna/Brazil PoupaLar. Playing at the Padre José Pagnacco Gymnasium on Saturday (5), the military team won 3-2 and finished the second phase in the third place of Group K.

The match was decisive for Castro’s team, which needed the victory to ensure presence in the next phase. Even in front of the leader of the key and reaching the final minutes at a disadvantage, Caramuru managed to react.

Lucas Soares scored twice and Thiago Danilau completed the score for the castrense team. Lucas was also chosen as the highlight of the match.

Caramuru seeks turn in the final minutes

The confrontation was balanced and tense for virtually all the time. Less than five minutes from the end, Caramuru was behind in the scoreboard, but managed to keep the organization to seek the turn in front of the fans.

The coach Garfinho mainly highlighted the behavior of the cast in the most difficult moments of the match.

“It was a very tough game as we had predicted, but we made a great game and we got our qualification. We had a very big emotional control, even though we were behind in the scoreboard with just over five minutes to finish the game,” he said.

With the result, Caramuru Futsal finished the second stage in third place in Group K after ten rounds.

For the coach, the position gained gains even more importance before the level of the opponents faced in the key.

“We had a great campaign in the second phase in a very difficult group, with well-qualified opponents. We are very happy with this third place,” said Garfinho.

Pagnacco makes a difference

The Padre José Pagnacco Gymnasium once again received a great presence from the military fans in the decisive confrontation.

According to Garfinho, the support coming from the stands played an important role in the reaction of the team.

“In Pagnacco everything is different. Our fans are simply amazing and supportive from start to finish, and in this important game it was no different. They are our sixth player,” he said.

Caramuru faces São Miguel no mata-mata

Qualified, Caramuru will now face São Miguel/Amarelinho do Oeste in a round-trip contest.

The first confrontation will be on Saturday (12), at 8 pm, at the Valter Marcon Gymnasium, in São Miguel do Iguaçu. The return match takes place the following Saturday, 19, also at 8 pm, at the Padre José Pagnacco Gymnasium in Castro.

The team that scores the most points in both matches guarantees the classification.

The duel is also important for next season. According to Caramuru’s coach, overcoming São Miguel is the team’s main objective to ensure presence in the 2027 Série Bronze, a competition that will feature the 16 best teams this season.

“San Miguel will be a tough opponent, an extremely traditional and experienced team. It will be two big games against them. Our main goal is to pass São Miguel to guarantee the spot in the Série Bronze of 2027”, projected Garfinho.

In addition to the adult team, the coach also highlighted the performance of the club’s U13 and U17 teams throughout the season and thanked the support of athletes, family, sponsors, fans, Castro’s City Hall and Sports Secretariat.
